Laura began painting in 2008. She received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Laura took as many art electives as possible while studying for her degrees in occupational and physical therapy. Laura has studied under Guidio Frick, the famous Russian Expressionist artist who was a student of Sergei Bongart, as well as local regional artists Linda Ellen Price, Barbara Davis, Gina Brown, and Sara Beth Fair. She is passionate about food, wine, and travel, and these are the themes that you will find in her art. Laura has been fortunate to have her paintings featured at a popular local restaurant where she displayed and sold her art. She is a colorist at heart and loves the juxtaposition of color and form. Laura loves lots of paint and combines brushwork with palette knife to build texture.
